Bathroom + Closet Remodels
Near Hancock Park
The owners of this property are very old friends of David and C&D represented them in the purchase. The house was extensively updated by the prior owners, but the bathrooms remained in their original 1920’s condition. The house had a traditional layout from the Jazz age — no guest Powder Room, but a multi-purpose full bath sitting between the kitchen and several other rooms. In addition, the laundry room was oddly placed off the Family Room — not optimal. Our client’s asked us to fix all these problems.
We devised a way to convert the multi-purpose bathroom into a Powder Room, and allocate some of the space to a new laundry room off the kitchen. The former laundry room space was then freed up to be incorporated into an expanded Master Bathroom. The material choices were the easy part — the Master Bath was based on the design we did for our N Arden St project, Carrera marble and an antique style vanity cabinet sett the tone. The new Powder Room is defined by an accent wall of heavily patterned tile designed to evoke wallpaper.
